What is ASTRO II 100NT CELL?

The increase in high-mix low-volume production has been a major factor in lowering productivity. The ASTRO II 100NT CELL bending robot system reduces setup times and significantly improves productivity by introducing various functions and increasing the automation and intelligence levels of the bending process.

Hybrid drive system

The ASTRO II 100NT CELL uses the HDS Series, a proven, highly dependable, next generation bending machine. A unique hybrid drive system with a highly-responsive AC servo motor that controls hydraulic pressure is used as the ram drive. These advanced devices help to significantly increase the bending operation speed and achieve positioning accuracy in microns.

Automatic Gripper Changer(AGC)

Using the new AGC mechanism, up to six types of robot grippers can be mounted. (Three types are mounted on ASTRO II 100NT CELL as standard. Six types can be mounted as optional.)

Robot Operation

The axis speed of the ‘ASTRO II 100’ robot has increased approximately 20% compared to the former model. The entire design is new as a new robot system has been adopted.

Punch & Die Auto Invert

The new large-capacity ATC mechanism significantly increases the efficiency of tool setup time as more tools can be set compared to the previous model. A 25% increase in axis speed significantly reduces job changeover time. These improvements enable quick and precise tool changes. In addition to the automatic punch/die change mechanism, the system has an automatic punch reversing mechanism making it possible to rotate the tools by 180 degrees.This allows for more flexible production with the minimum setup time.
